Young People Cornwall

Young People CornwallWho We Are

Founded in 1974 to support and work with youth groups throughout the County, Young People Cornwall is a local charity with a long track record of success in helping young people aged 11 to 25. Building on our beginnings as the Cornwall County Association of Youth Clubs, we decided in the late 1980’s to become a major provider of youth work in our own right. Today we support work with 11 – 25 year olds through specialist projects and programmes addressing issues that marginalise or place young people at risk.

The Fusion Project aims to develop a cross-ethnic understanding of racism, which works with whole communities on prevention, is inclusive, recognises diversity, and celebrates cultural differences whilst continuing to respond to incidents of racism and provide support to BME young people living in the county.

The project works with schools, youth centres and other agencies in order to improve cultural awareness, sensitivity and understanding and is Cornwall’s leading youth work project dealing with issues around racism and diversity.
